IMPORTANT CONFERENCE LOGISTICS

DATE & TIME:

Registration for Friday, January 20th, 2017, will begin at 10:15 AM EST and close 11:00 AM EST. The first session of the day begins promptly at 11:10 AM EST and the last session of the day ends promptly at 7:00 PM.
Registration for Saturday, January 21st, 2017, will begin at 9:00 AM EST and closes 9:45 AM EST. The first session of the day begins promptly at 10:00 AM EST and the last session of the day ends promptly at 4:00 PM EST.

 Lerner Hall, 2920 Broadway, Columbia University, New York, NY 10027

ENTRANCE:

There are two entrances. Please use the entrance on the campus side of the building, there will be signs to direct you.

WHAT TO BRING:

All attendees should bring a form of ID to check-in at the registration desk. We recommend bringing a notepad and pen as well!

(If you cannot print, no worries all of the documents are mobile friendly and can be accessed on your phone. However, we do recommend at least printing out the two page conference agenda).

FAQs:

 1. How will I know where the rooms are for the sessions?
You can find the rooms for each session on the printable conference agenda. The planning team will also be stationed throughout the weekend to help you!
2. Will food be provided during the conference?
Yes, lunch on Friday and Saturday will be provided. Friday’s lunch is from 2:00 – 3:00 PM EST and Saturday’s lunch is from 12:00 – 1:00 PM EST.
3. What if I get there late and miss the registration window?

Due to high demand, all attendees are encouraged to check-in on time during the day’s registration window. Once a session begins, late arrivals will have to wait until there is a break or transition to enter. Furthermore, some interest-specific panels throughout the weekend require you to register for them when you arrive at check-in (Women in STEM, Women in Business, etc.). Due to limited space, those sessions will be filled on a rolling basis. So the earlier you arrive the better! To see the registration window for each day, go to the printable conference agenda.

4. How much time do we have between each session?
In order to stay on schedule and to respect the time of our guest speakers,  there will only be 1-2 minutes for transition. Once a session is over, you must go to your next session promptly. All session leads will start on time and will not wait for late arrivals. Throughout the weekend, volunteers will be helping attendees get from room to room.
5. What is the arts showcase?
This incredible event is on Friday from 6:00 – 7:00 PM. It is an exhibition displaying the work of over a dozen NYC artists who have used their art as a medium of self-expression, liberation, and empowerment. 6. Is parking available?
Parking may be difficult to find, so it is not highly recommended. However, if you do choose to park nearby please give yourself ample time to do so. As an alternative to parking, please consider taking the train. The 1 train to 116th Street Columbia University is the closest station.
7. Will there be tickets sold at the door?
Unfortunately not, the event has reached maximum capacity therefore seats are sold out.

WHAT TO BRING:

Everyone is expected to bring a form of ID. Please keep in mind this is a fundraising event, we will be hosting a raffle with over 10 prizes. You can purchase raffle tickets throughout the night with cash or using venmo/cash app/etc. So please come with intentions of participating!

FAQs

1. Where can I find the gala program?
The digital event booklet has a version of the gala agenda where you can see the line-up for the evening. The official program will be given out the night of the gala.
2. Will food be served?
Of course!
3. Will there be performances?
Yes, lots of them! Come prepared for an evening of fun and entertainment.
4. Is parking available?
Parking may be difficult to find, so it is not highly recommended. However, if you do choose to park nearby please give yourself ample time to do so.
